a) If You Use Smart Khata Without Logging In (Guest Mode)
- A random, anonymous identifier is stored in your browser using a secure cookie so your expense entries, categories, and budgets stay saved between visits.
- We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identity information in guest mode.
- Guest data that remains unused (zero entries) for more than 60 days is automatically deleted from our system.
b) If You Log In (WordPress Account or Google Sign-In)
- Your name, email address, and profile picture (if using Google Sign-In) are collected to identify your account.
- Your expense entries, custom categories, and budget settings are linked to your account so they sync across devices.
- If you log in after using guest mode, your guest data is automatically merged into your account.
c) Usage Data
- Basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns (e.g., which categories or features are used) to help us improve the tool.
- We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

- Save and display your expense entries, categories, budgets, and reports
- Show your personalized dashboard (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly summaries)
- Send you optional email reports (only if you have turned on “Email Me”)

- Allow you to download your own expense reports as CSV files
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Prevent abuse (e.g., automated spam entries) using basic rate-limiting

- Delete: Delete individual entries or categories anytime from within the tool.

- Notifications/Email: Turn “Notifications” and “Email Me” on or off anytime from the tool’s header.
- Language: Switch between English, Hindi, and Odia anytime.
7. Children’s Privacy
Smart Khata is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

- Guest (non-logged-in) data with no activity is automatically deleted after 60 days.
- Logged-in account data is retained as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion.
